Post-op Surgical Care
Post operative care at home is increasingly important as hospital stays become shorter. Your Partners in Community Nursing nurse’s role is to assess overall health status and promote healing.
Wound Care is provided as specified by your surgeon. A plan of care will be developed by your nurse in cooperation with the Home and Community Care Support Services (HCCSS). If your wound is not progressing as anticipated, a wound care specialist will be consulted to ensure optimal healing. Your nurse will also monitor pain, nutrition, as well as other factors that may impact healing, and follow up will be made with your surgeon when appropriate.
